Library Book Check Out Policies:

  • If you come during class, you must have a signed pass with your name, reason for your visit, date and time, and teacher’s signature.
  • You may have no more than three books checked out to you at one time for three weeks
  • If you have a lost book, you may not check out another until the fine has been paid
  • To check out books you must have your GMS photo ID or Student Barcode (given to you by your ELA teacher)
  • You may renew books three times. If you need more time, please speak with Mrs. Bliss individually
  • There are no holds placed on books

Library Lost Book Policy:

If your library books is lost, please speak with Mrs. Bliss as soon as possible. You will be asked to complete a lost book letter to be signed by all of your teachers and parents/guardians. Once you have completed your letter with all appropriate signatures, turn in to Mrs. Bliss with the $20.00 lost book fee.

*All lost books are $20.00

Library Rules/Etiquette:

  • There is no food or drink allowed in the library with the exception of bottled water.
  • During school hours, backpacks must be kept outside of the library on the hooks provided. Be sure to bring any valuables in with you.
  • When you come into the library, be prepared to work quietly. If you are working on a group project, please keep your voices down, and be mindful of those around you.
  • If you are using multimedia with audio, please use headphones and keep the volume so only you can hear it.
  • If you are disruptive and not engaged in school work you may be asked to leave.  Meetings and special events are exceptions.
  • Handle materials with care.
  • If you pull a book from the shelf and do not wish to check it out, please place it on one of the reshelving carts placed around the library. DO NOT place book(s) back on the shelf!
  • Leave your area clean. Push your chairs in when you get up to leave.
  • If you do not know how to use something or something is not working, please ask for assistance.
